Debbie Pretorius

I have my Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. I have a passion for business and education and the role of Head of School I get to contribute on a daily basis to developing the leaders of tomorrow. Eastern Suburbs is a non-profit organisation and helping the school maintain these wonderful grounds and facilities and grow our footprint is a joy. My family have been a part of Eastern Suburbs for more than 80 years – my mother attended the school as a child as well myself and my sisters, and my sisters children.

I have been with Eastern Suburbs for a year. For the past 25 years plus, I worked from Finance Administrator to Project Finance Administrator. When I arrived at Eastern Suburbs, I came across an very intriguing project of Secretary/Admistrator

Amalia Pentz

I am always captivated by the sense of wonder with which a 4 year old views his or her world. Working with young children is my passion.

I enjoy their spontaneity and energy.  There is never a dull moment in my day, and the experience keeps me fit and young. I have been a happy member of our Eastern Suburbs family for more than 10 years”

Natasha Khuzwayo

I am Natasha Khuzwayo, a dedicated and passionate educator with a degree in Foundation Phase teaching from the University of Johannesburg. I am Originally from KwaZulu-Natal, I also hold a qualification in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment. Teaching runs in my family, and I am proud to continue the legacy of my father and grandmother by grooming young minds and fostering a love for learning.

Annemari Malherbe

I am a qualified Teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Foundation phase. My passion and heart is to teach young children and help them to grow into confident and well skilled persons. I did my teaching practical during my studies at Eastern Suburbs and at last my dream to be a Teacher at the best place to be has come true.

I am the teacher for the Bunny Class. I have been working at Eastern Suburbs Pre-Primary school for more than 20 years. I love looking after the little ones. Their happiness is my happiness.

Hope Mabena

My name is Tshepo but I am known as Hope. I finished studyinglast year and did my practical learning at Eastern Suburbs and was thrilled to be offered a permanent position at the school this year. 

I have a real passion for teaching, especially the pre-school age groups. I love the environment here where the children are cared for and valued by every staff member and where everyone goes the extra mile to help each child reach their full potential. I ma blessed to be a part of this family.

I have been with Eastern Suburbs for the past year as the school secretary, having joined them as an intern administrator. I love working with the little ones, their tiny smiles and pure hearts humble me every day and the school environment constantly reminds me that it takes big hearts to shape little minds.

I have been assisting teachers with children for over 30 years. I love my work and I don’t see it as a job but as a life calling. I have been with Eastern Suburbs for 14 years and have enjoyed every moment here. I have worked with many of the teachers across all the age groups and I am currently assisting Teacher Leonie in the squirrel class.

My name is Cheryl Sasavona Maluleke, I have postgraduate certificate in education and national diploma in languages, I enjoy working with children and being a part of their growth and development. I love to see how their faces light up when they learn something new. I am teacher assistant.

My name is Norah Ngwepe. I am a mother of 3 children.I have done a course in Basic Childcare through SA Childcare. I have been working with children for more than 16 years.

I love working with children. I am working with them because I love them and want to see them grow.

Sarah Masehla

I am an assistant in the Teddy Class (ages -2-3 years) with Teacher Beth. I have been working with children for more than 27 years, but the happiest 17 years have been those spent at Eastern Suburbs. I assist with the swimming lessons on a weekly basis. I love to assist and guide the little ones through this very important stage of development.

I am the after-care teacher and have been working at Eastern Suburbs for 14 years. Working with children in my passion – I love to see these little flowers blossom.

Boitumelo De Villiers;

I am an individual who believes in working hard to achieve her goals. I am ambitious and self-motivated and I always pride myself on being dedicated. What I love about working with small children s is that they will always make you laugh and bring so much love and happiness with them. No Being an Aftercare Supervisor brings such joy to me and seeing the kids coming to greet me as i come to work and giving me hugs is what makes my day.

Kitchen and Cleaning Staff

Paulina Letsholo

I have been working at Eastern Suburbs for the past 16 years. My job is to cook a healthy well-balanced meal for all our children. I keep the kitchen and out school clean and hygienic so that our children can thrive in a healthy environment. In addition to cooking and cleaning, I assist in feeding the children when an extra hand is needed. To me Eastern Suburbs is not just my job but a loving and happy part of my extended family.
